Yeah, I've noticed the same thing with that show. =/

I know. I was looking forward to it's return with Season 4 back in the day. After a few episodes of the renewed show, I stopped watching completely.

The only time I give it any attention is if like nothing else is on and I want a distraction, but even then I still flick through various channels.

I just hate the fact that its gotten so goddamn political. I mean, yeah, make some cracks every once in a while, but seriously, if I wanted political spoofs, I could get funnier and FACTUAL ones somewhere else.

Anyway, I see your point. It's not so much the political issues getting dragged in that bother me, it's just what they use for political issues that does. And how they go about it. I mean, like gay marriage or political bribery and corruption. THAT'S BEEN DONE BEFORE. And with more detail and satire, too.

There used to be a time when I could buy a Family Guy dvd and people wouldn't think I watched it for Peter Griffin's fart jokes. Because that was never a fucking passtime before. Seasons 1 - 3 actually had plot, but somewhere along the renewal it jumped out the window and got run over by a bus.

All of the comedy big-wins are slowing down lately. South Park has lost it, the Simpsons have been spiraling down for years now...it's all just crap at this point.

What's worse is that The Simpsons decided to turn bawdy and pointless in order to compete with Family Guy. Remember when it used to have plots, life lessons?

Both shows have rotted.

I have to admit, I don't really watch the Simpsons. I saw one really old episode that was funny, but I usually watch South Park for its witty satire. And yeah, I thought Family Guy went down the drain Season 4 and onward before that "Family Guy South Park Episode" (people seem to think South Park fans that hate Family Guy just hate it because South Park hates it).

And yeah, I remember when Family Guy was good. Where Lois was my favorite character, but now she's turned into "The Wesley". It's like this is what happened...

Peter Griffin (seasons 1-3): Likable dope who can be clueless and selfish, but ultimately does what's best for his family. Has a jealous streak and insecurities.

Peter Griffin (seasons 4+): Borderline retarded; abusive prick; neglectful husband and father; completely immature who could care less about his kids; drug user; pervert.

Lois Griffin (seasons 1-3): The glue that held the family together and is fiercely protective over her family. Modest, talented, and genuinely cared for all her kids. Had some regrets and feels unappreciated, but is quiet about it.

Lois Griffin (seasons 4+): Bitch; whore who'll have sex with just about anyone; drug addict; abusive parent; neglectful mother who doesn't give a rat's ass what happens to her kids; arrogant; shallow; and has "MILF" constantly shoved down our throats where we finally get a stomach ache.

Brian Griffin (seasons 1-3): Lovable, down to earth dog who has an alcoholic problem. Can be self-righteous. Has affections for Lois.

Brian Griffin (seasons 4+): Seth MacFarlen self-insert who's obsessed with Lois.

Meg Griffin (seasons 1-3): Brainy outcast who wants to be accepted by her peers. Is insecure, selfish, and can give in to peer pressure, but also does what is right in the end. Mature for the most part.

Meg Griffin (seasons 4+): Emo, whiny little brat who's ungrateful, borderline psychotic, and can't get a boyfriend to save her life. Is constantly abused by the rest of the cast for reasons that make me gag. (No, I don't believe in harassing a character whenever they appear is funny or witty, Seth. It's just lazy and sadistic.)

I don't really pay attention to Stewie or Chris, truth be told. But anyway, that's just a brief analysis of the character rape some of them went through. I haven't even gotten to the main points why the show isn't funny. @____@

He needs to quit before he decides to slime up something else. I swear, there was this new episode of Family Guy where Brian's talking about his girlfriend having bulimia, and how it's good for her because she's found "a balance with it" and "everyone's doing it", and this is supposed to be funny. Shit like that isn't funny, especially when the writer hasn't done an ounce of research on the subject.

Seth is like a boil on your back that you can't get rid of without help.
